F.A.Q

GENERAL

What is the jewelry made of?

We primarily offer stainless steel pieces that are silver or 18kt gold plated. However, some pieces that are not will certainly have the materials listed.

Is the jewelry for women or men?

Actually, our jewelry is for the confident and therefore belongs to the gender of whoever wears the piece. We do not wish to limit anyone’s options by labeling anything and leave that to our customer! We simply provide quality pieces of a variety of styles.

Is the gold real?

Our gold is real, but so are 14KT and below! We touch on this more on IG, but our gold is real. Since gold is actually super soft it is used to coat(or plate) a thin metal such as copper or stainless steel to create a gold piece of jewelry. The “KT“ at the end just means how much gold was used to plate the whatever the base metal is. 18KT means 75% gold (on the surface) with 25% being stainless steel (at the base). 24KT pieces are not 100% but are 99.99% gold, making them the closest to 100%.

What is oxidizing? Tarnishing?

Oxidizing is essentially when something chemically reacts to oxygen and it rusts. Tarnishing is similar but when jewelry react to a person's sweat, makeup, body oils, etc and begins to lose color. Frequently when a piece of jewelry tarnishes, it tends to turn the skin it’s in contact with green.

My gold is losing color.. Is it oxidizing?

Nope! You see, losing color is actually a matter of maintenance and time. Gold will fade over time. Regardless of how much gold/what the KT count is. As gold pieces are worn and go through their life spans, the gold’s dullness with increase. As you clean or polish and buff any piece of gold jewelry, you will inevitably remove gold from the piece overtime by doing so.
How do I avoid losing gold/color?

You kind of can’t.. BUT what you can do be mindful! By that, we mean just being careful about how you care for and treat your jewelry! You know, just avoid chemicals and don’t expose your jewelry to water too much! But check out our Care Tips page & follow the tips there!

Also! Take mind about how thin or thick a chain is because that will have a direct correlation to just how much gold is in the piece. Thinner and smaller pieces lose gold faster because there isn’t as much gold to withstand buffing, polishing, and cleaning like pieces that are thicker and chunkier.

Are the pieces of quality?

Of course! It’s because our process is … extensive to say the least. But before we officially sell a piece and list it on the site, promote it, etc, we begin our 30-Day trial for the piece. During these 30 days, a sample of the piece is worn for damn near 24 hours for 7 days straight and then almost 24 hours for at least 5-7 days a week until the 30 day mark has been reached. During this trial, we thoroughly examine how the piece functions, responds, and actually works with other pieces, different environments. We make sure the piece doesn’t oxidize, tarnish, etc. We also check to see how the color holds or how the color is lost/how quickly it happens. Long story short, we take time to intimately get to know our products.
